WELCOME
Transposons (a.k.a. "jumping genes") make a large portion of the genomes and they can cause mutations or disorders. Our lab studies transposons and the silencing mechanism. We use maize as our model system because maize has a rich history of genetics and transposon research. We use a combination of genetics, epigenetics, and bioinformatics approaches in our study.
