Etiha shared her research on silencing reprogramming in the germinating embryo. She confirmed the trend across three independent trials and pulled together DNA methylation, small RNA, Ac expression, and RNA-seq data, a really rich story.

Ravesh presented his work on silencing in maize endosperm. This tissue is notoriously difficult to handle, and he spent a full semester fine-tuning methods to get enough good-quality DNA and RNA from the starchy endosperm. In the end, he confirmed the silencing mechanism for two independent silencers.

We heard great feedback on both presentations. Proud of our team!
